CINDY is a year old spayed pit bull terrier mix. She is an incredibly loving pup who came to us as a stray. We found out quickly that she is completely deaf but responds readily to simple hand signals. She's mastered "sit" and "down" and is now in the process of learning appropriate leash mannerisms. Cindy is overly enthusiastic about everyone and everything. The high jump is her greeting of choice. She relishes long walks and can just as easily spend hours lounging in the kiddy pool. This happy girl is a dynamo of energy and would do best in a household of adults with previous experience and lots of patience. As she is a resource guarder of both food and toys, Cindy would not mix well with young kids and/or multiple pets. She does, however, enjoy roughhousing with her shelter pals, so play dates with other dogs would probably be fine.
Viva VIVA is a 1-1/2 year old sweet, spayed domestic short hair. She's a sociable, petite calico/tabby who loves affection and lap sitting. Even though Viva has a slight neurological condition in her back legs, this lively gal has been able to easily compensate. She's developed an endearing slip and slide across the floor that serves her well. We believe her physical challenge is a result of spinal damage from an old injury suffered as a kitten. The only side effect is that she has a little difficulty negotiating her litter box. The good news is that she is successful 80% of the time, making a valiant effort the remaining 20%. In fact, apart from that, Viva is perfect and would make an excellent addition to a family looking for a loving companion. Multiple cats, kids, and easygoing dogs OK.

Special needs dogs and cats can be very costly for a shelter to care for.
If you can not provide a home for one of the beautiful animals here,
perhaps you can afford to help us care for them?
