Here are some of our adoptable pets

Gillian
GILLIAN is a spayed senior Shepherd mix. She is about 9 years old. She is very shy and may take some time to adjust to new situations. Once she is comfortable she is a friendly, affectionate, and inquisitive girl. She gets along well with other dogs but because she can be a bit nervous, would best be placed in a home without small children. Gillian's shyness would make her best suited to a home with older children or adults who have the patience and understanding to work with her as she settles in to her new home. SADIE is a 7 year old spayed Shepard/Doberman mix. This sleek, attractive girl is enthusiastic, yet calm, and enjoys going for long walks as well as leisurely car rides. She is housetrained, knows basic commands and will make the perfect addition to a household of easygoing, gentle adults looking for a loyal companion. Sadie's nature is a very loving one and, once comfortable, she will never stop smiling. As she is not particularly fond of dogs, Sadie would prefer to be the only pet, upon whom all of your love and attention could be lavished. PATTI is an 8 year old spayed Golden Retriever mix. She is a shy, reserved girl whose fear of new people and situations sometimes gets the better of her. Once comfortable with those she trusts, Patti is a very loving companion, well-behaved in the home, housetrained, and loyal to a fault. Her love of food is intense, so the quickest way to Patti's heart is through treats and more treats. Her ideal home would be a child-free, quiet environment comprised of patient, experienced adults who have the time and inclination to help this diamond in the rough turn into the sweet, affectionate charmer some of us know her to be. Multiple easygoing dogs and cats OK.
CHAMPAGNE is a 10 year old spayed female. We believe she is a lab/husky mix but there may be some other mixes in her too. She has one blue eye and one brown so she's a real attention grabber. She came to our shelter after living in a barber shop most of her life. She does not like children, probably is not a fan of cats and she is selective with dogs, although she's done well with her canine companions here. She would best be placed in quiet, adult only home. ANTHONY is a beautiful 7 year old long-haired neutered Shepherd. He has a very calm temperment and a special love of the outdoors. Anthony enjoys long walks, but has a touch of hip dysplasia, so stairs are not for him. He would be happiest in an adult home or a home with older children, but he would prefer no cats. JAMES is a neutered 5 year old Dalmatian. He is an lively, active dog who sometimes focuses his time and attention on the wrong thing (like carpet chewing), so he would need a home with folks who are willing to channel that energy and maybe even enroll him in obedience class. He loves people of all ages and other dogs, and walks well on leash. At 5, James is still relatively young, so he'd love a home where he can go for long walks or where he'd have a fenced in backyard to play. Multiple dogs OK, but no cats.
SHOTTIE is a 7 year old neutered Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix. He's a spunky, lively little man who enjoys long, leisurely walks as well as lap sitting and sofa lounging. His previous owners kept him caged and basement-bound most of the day. Not the happiest history, but it left him both crate and housetrained. Tough guy Shottie was taught basic commands including, in this case, " Go home to cage". In our care, he has maintained a generosity of spirit that speaks wonders for his resiliency. Shottie is gentle and loving with people of all ages, curious about his surroundings, and very patient as he waits his turn for a daily walk. He would probably do best as a single family pet, although he has been known to appreciate the ladies of his species on occasion. BAILEY is a two year old spayed pit bull terrier mix. Extremely active and energetic, this handsome girl would make the perfect addition to any family looking for a lively, loving playmate. She is housetrained, walks well on leash, and enjoys the company of people of all ages. Bailey gets along well with other dogs but would be best placed in a home free of small animals as she loves to run and chase balls and would probably do the same with the household cat. LADY is a 4 1/2 year old spayed Corgi mix. Full of spunk and curiosity, Lady is timid at first but, once comfortable, she makes both a loyal and loving companion. Lovely Lady sticks close, usually landing in the laps or between the legs of those she's come to know well. She enjoys treats of all kinds, walks calmly on leash, responds to basic commands, and doesn't mind the company of other dogs or cats. Allthough she has lived with children in the past (acting as both their nanny and protector), learning to trust remains a major issue for Lady. Her ideal home should probably consist of one or more patient, experienced women or extremely gentle men who live a quiet, non chaotic lifestyle.
